Blossom Hill Fellow Amin Marei, who is implementing early childhood education for Syrian refugee children in Egypt, recently ran two parallel workshops for displaced caregivers and children (ages 3-6). Multiple studies have documented the importance of early education in brain development and in ensuring academic success. Caregivers learned about mental and sexual health while the children experimented with play kits designed to support holistic development.

Sarah*, 5, said she really enjoyed the arts and crafts activities and her ability to use colorful materials to create her own art.
