On a basketball arena in Amman, Jordan, Blossom Hill’s Sports for All program is igniting a fiery passion for the game. The program’s spirited students, ages 13 – 16, are refugees from Syria and Iraq as well as Jordanian peers from their host community. They not only engage in an exciting weekly match but also delve into an extraordinary cultural exchange. Boundaries dissolve as they embrace the chance to learn about one another’s unique traditions, values, and stories. It’s a melting pot of diverse perspectives, where the harmony of basketball acts as a catalyst for forging lifelong friendships. For refugees, it’s an opportunity to be socially included in their new country.

But it doesn’t end there. The program’s older students have the extraordinary opportunity to become the guardians of the game, stepping into the role of mentors and coaches for their younger counterparts. Through their newfound leadership skills, they instill the essence of teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship.

In this captivating tapestry of passion and camaraderie, this program is a beacon of hope, a celebration of diversity, and a testament to the power of sports in uniting communities. Together, they shoot for the stars, driven by the love of the game and the unbreakable bonds they create along the way.
