For refugees living in Greece, a big hurdle to successful employment is mastering the Greek language. That is why Blossom Hill Fellows Sara Vispi and Line Didelot have made that a priority at their ANKAA vocational center in Athens. They also opened a Greek Language Cafe and, every Thursday, students can join to improve their speaking skills. Maria, ANKAA’s Greek teacher, discusses a different topic each time in order to help them develop new vocabulary. Around a cup of tea and some cookies, in an informal setting, all participants feel safe and free to practice their speaking skills.
