As we continue to honor minority mental health month, this week we are highlighting our Helping Hands program in Cappadocia, Turkey. This program uses puppetry to help refugee children overcome existing trauma as well as form peer-to-peer support with Turkish children in their community. This is achieved through psychosocial support sessions, group talking sessions, and learning different coping mechanisms and problem-solving skills.
Recently our Fellows delivered puppetry kits to the children so they can get creative at home! They also have been doing classes on zoom for the past four weeks, and that has been a huge success. It is so important to keep these kids engaged in this trying time. We have attached some images so you can see the great work that they are doing.
