As part of her holistic child protection program, Blossom Hill Fellow Leyla Akca recognizes the importance of healthy development of children. Her child protection program designs and organizes information sessions and recreational days in which children are encouraged to engage in developmentally appropriate physical activities that enhance their learning and growth in social, emotional and cognitive abilities.
Recently, the program launched a volleyball training program for boys and girls over an eight-week period in collaboration with a local sports school. The participating children are not only learning volleyball techniques but are also honing their skills in self-regulation, their ability to follow instructions and develop peer relationships in a safe environment.
