Dear Blossom Hill Family,
We invite you to join us for a conference on “The Future of Remote Legal Assistance”, co-sponsored by Blossom Hill Fellow Amelie Vavrovky and Stanford Digital Security Lab.
Over the past year, many organizations that provide legal aid were forced to move their activities online. Yet, even in a post COVID world, it seems inevitable that many organizations will continue to provide remote legal assistance and utilize technology to further their missions.
With the transition to remote assistance, new challenges around accessibility, cybersecurity, and digital literacy have emerged. Through a combination of workshops, discussions, and skill shares, this conference will explore best practices for organizations looking to use technology to increase accessibility and access to justice.
The conference will take place on January 29, 2021 from 8:30 am – 3:00 pm PST. Key topics will include designing secure systems to best protecting privacy, ensuring accessibility through purposeful design, and using legal technology ethically to scale capacity. Speakers will range from policymakers to privacy advocates, legal technologists, security experts, and activists.
With a new Administration in January, the need to strengthen remote services for immigrant clients is all the more urgent. You can sign up for the conference here. https://www.eventbrite.com/…/the-future-of-remote-legal…
