EMPOWERING INTERNALLY DISPLACED AFGHAN GIRLS & WOMEN

Over the past 4 years, our literacy and tailoring program has created life-changing opportunities in Afghanistan where education and employment options for women are severely restricted:

Over 580 girls learned to read and write in a community with less than 20% female literacy and where girls are banned from schools.

775 girls and young women gained tailoring skills through our development initiative, launching home-based businesses.

These newly skilled artisans now earn income to support their families while gaining economic independence.

Our program specifically targets girls and women who had to leave everything behind but are finding new paths forward in a community where women’s skilled labor participation is below 10% and working outside the home is prohibited.
