Kerry Dorton, Montessori Educator from Washington Montessori School in Connecticut recently visited the Blossom Hill Early Education Center to meet the team and provide training. Here, Kerry tells us her experience:
“My visit to the Azraq Center was fantastic! The children in the Montessori program are VERY independent. They arrive on the bus, make their way upstairs to their classroom and carefully put away all of their belongings so that they are ready to learn. When they are done with a piece of work that they would like to take home, they leave the classroom to put it in their backpack and return right after. They walk downstairs to the bathroom on their own and, in general, display an unusual level of responsibility for children their age. It was so lovely to watch the care and reverence with which the children treated the materials. Their teachers have done a fantastic job and the children work with focus and determination.”
