BH Fellow Fereshteh Ganjavi is hosting the “Refugee’s First Thanksgiving” on Monday, November 25 from 5 – 9 P.M. at the Southern Connecticut State University.
Members of the refugee community will gather with volunteers, mentors, and members of the greater New Haven area for a Thanksgiving feast with a multicultural twist. The event features delicious cross-cultural cuisine, children’s arts & crafts, family games, pumpkin painting, and education stations designed to explore the intersection of Native American and modern immigrant advocacy within the local community. This program is part of an initiative that strives to create a safe space for cultural exchange, exploration, and immersion for refugee and immigrant children and families.
