As children are gearing up for a new school year around the world, in conflict-affected places like Kabul, Afghanistan, Blossom Hill Fellows’ Ahmad Rostami and Furogh Mirdad’s vocational training school just held their graduation ceremony. The spate of recent bombings in Kabul delayed the graduation, which was held on August 26 for their students who successfully completed their training in entrepreneurship, leadership and English-language instruction during the 2018-2019 academic year. The event featured keynote speakers, student speeches, startup pitch presentations, and live music. Some of the startup teams were offered sponsorship and financial investment, highlighting the success of the graduates and the feasibility of their potential business ideas. The success of the program is a testimony to the resilient spirit of our students, who despite security issues that plague daily living in Kabul, are determined to persevere and pursue their goals.
