Blossom Hill Fellow Ahmad Wali Rostami and his team recently won a $5,000 Prize at the Afghan Shark Tank 2019.
The U.S. Embassy in Kabul organized a series of workshops on “U.S. Exchange Program Alumni Entrepreneurship” in which more than 100 Afghan alumni participated and pitched their business ideas to embassy officials and investors. Workshop participants were divided in teams of 5 to 12 people whose work involved education, health, agriculture, higher education or economics. All teams worked with their mentors for a period of five months during which time they came up with business ideas, developed business plans and finally pitched their business ideas at this event.
Wali participated at this workshop and, in his capacity as a professional leader, took the lead of a team of nine Afghan alumni who came up with the business idea of establishing CAMP ELITE. “Thanks to Blossom Hill, my three-year experience in teaching leadership and entrepreneurship skills helped me deliver the best pitch of the event,” said Wali.
