On June 29, in Athens, the Blossom Hill-El Sistema Greece Youth Orchestra performed their last concert of the season! Comprised of refugee and Greek children living in Athens, these young musicians joined forces with professionals from the Yale Alumni Chorus and Academica Athens Orchestra on the stage of the Greek National Opera during the 2019 Summer Nostos Festival. Run by Blossom Hill Fellow Dimitra Raftopoulou, the orchestra program promotes social inclusion by bringing refugee children and their Greek peers together through their love of music. One student said: “Being a member of an orchestra is like being a member of a big noisy family!” #bhturns10!
