More Than Just a Game: How Table Tennis is Transforming Refugee Lives in Amman

At our community center in Amman, Jordan, table tennis has become more than just a sport—it’s a pathway to confidence, leadership, and joy for refugee children.

Our free table tennis program offers a rare opportunity for refugee youth to engage in a sport that’s typically inaccessible due to cost barriers. Here, children develop crucial skills like hand-eye coordination and concentration while forming meaningful social connections.

What makes us proudest? Watching young participants like Aya grow into leaders. When we started, we worked with just two children as coaching assistants. Today, these young leaders actively prepare and guide warm-up sessions as part of our leadership initiative.

“I joined the table tennis course because I love this activity,” shares Aya, a 12-year-old from Syria. “At first, I was excited but also nervous because I didn’t have any skills. But now, I feel happy and confident. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”

This is the impact of your support—creating safe spaces where refugee children can play, grow, and lead. Join us in expanding these opportunities for more children in Amman.
