Blossom Hill Fellows Erika Gillette EdD and Katerina Tsikalaki MScEd started the Science United Teaching Leaders project to support people on the move in Greece to become science teachers. Recently, in Lesvos, Katerina was thrilled to work with 21 aspiring science teachers from Afghanistan, Palestine, Gambia, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Sudan and Congo, in a 3-day training on experiential science teaching. Everyone was excited to experiment with the Hanger-Balances, the Magnetic Train, the LED Flowers and the Paper Microscope! At least 5 participants are looking forward to teaching science in their community. The project is organized in collaboration with Rad Music International and Changemakers Lab in Lesvos.
