She also hosts a virtual book club, and volunteers regularly.
Congratulations to Ahmed, a student at Haverford College, on his amazing work using tech to support refugees. Inspired by his harrowing experience as a Syrian refugee, he led a team that came up with a web app designed to help refugees integrate into their new communities and build new lives for themselves and their families. “Lighthouse,” as they called it, won the award for Best Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Hack, one of 10 awards issued at the Comcast-sponsored event held at the 10th Annual Philly Codefest in Drexel University.
